Brief History

Celebration was started when Pastor Terry Walters, his wife Cheri, and his daughter Whitney moved to Pana in 2001 for the purpose of starting a new church.  Since they knew a few folks in the area already and had a month or two to make some more contacts, they started worship in their living room the week after they moved in with 30 people!  The next week there were 39 and so on!  They soon  had to rent "Danceland", a former skating rink, on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. A year later the young congregation renovated a former hardware store and met there for the next 14 years growing in number and in ministries.  That location was at the edge of town on US 51.  In the summer of 2016, the church bought property in town and remodeled that giving us all kinds of potential!

More History

The church has gradually provided more and more ministry opportunities.  As attendance and resources have grown, so has our impact on the world around us.  We have gradually added more Bible study groups with the latest being Bible Storying like we use on the mission field.

We developed our own children's ministry called Straight Street, which is sort of a Christian "Sesame Street"/VBS and have that for kids from Sept - Apr.  We offer a great VBS each summer and have been involved in Disaster Relief as well as foreign missions.  We are getting more involved in local ministries as well, such as FCA, ministerial alliance efforts, hospital chaplain ministries, the local mission, and more.
