We know that you can't all be at everything we do at CCC and not all events are for everyone, but we still want everyone to be aware of all that God is doing.

Church News

Our Straight Street children's ministry will be one of the featured ministries in Rehoboth Association's Church Leadership Conference. Pastor Terry will be sharing with folks from around the association about Straight St. and how they could use the concept in their churches. Other children's leadership seminars are about AWANA and Team Kid programs.

Our church will be participating in an On Missions Conference in Oct. We will host a missionary and hear from him on Sunday morning the 18th, then get him to his other speaking engagements Sunday - Wednesday nights. We will hear from 2 missionaries each of those nights, joining with Grace Baptist Church of Nokomis. We will meet at our church Sun. & Tues. nights with Grace joining us and we'll go to their church on Mon. and Wed. nights.

The planning committee has set up for us to participate in the Chain for Life event again this year on Oct. 4. We stand out on the church boulevard and hold up signs to passers-by showing our stand for life rather than abortion. We will also have a Trunk or Treat event again in Oct. around Halloween and are planning a special worship service for Thanksgiving. Several Christmas plans are in the works which we will report on later.

The Gospel Project Bible study series by Lifeway is our new Sunday morning curriculum! It puts all ages on the same weekly study and will take us through the entire Bible in 3 years. Its concept is to show the overall message of the Bible and teach the good news of God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ shown throughout the whole Bible. We've just barely begun the series, so now is a good time to join us each Sunday at 9:00 a.m.!

Stuff We Did!

We had two Gospel Music Nights this summer, where some friends joined us with their musical talents and helped us sing all the oldies. Thanks goes to Luke Morrell, Paul Pierce, Kent Beck, and our own Calen Walter & Pastor Terry & Cheri! We enjoyed an ice cream buffet the first night and a taco bar the second time.

We had a really good turnout for a pool party at the Pana Pool and a couple of fun-filled Game Nights at the church and the Pastor's house. If you have never attended one of our game nights - you really should next time. Tons of fun and good fellowship!

VBS was awesome as usual, and though we say it every year, it is true - "This was the best one yet!" Ryan and Shantel Parks directed and led us again this year as we scaled "Everest!" Great in every area - decor, teaching, music, games, crafts, refreshments, etc.! It also helped us reach out to some new kids when we started Straight Street up again after Labor Day.

Several folks went to KY to visit The Creation Museum in Aug. and enjoyed some great fellowship while touring the awesome museum. Go see it yourself sometime! Our Labor Day float helped us put the word out about our church and won enough prize money to pay for itself! Our children's ministry, Straight Street, started its 5th season with a great turnout and another awesome session began! It's a Wild Safari Adventure, featuring lessons and music from Group's Pandamania VBS from several years ago. Get your kids and grandkids to the Street every Sunday night at 6:00!
